Three Ways to Properly Care for Waiting Room Toys

Wooden play sets are very handy to have around especially when your kid is fidgeting and whining because he’s bored of waiting. And what’s great about these toys is that not only do they keep your kid amused and busy, they are also greatly contributory to the mental development of your child as they improve a vast variety of skills such as color, pattern and shape recognition, spatial awareness, creativity and imagination, and fine motor skills.

And this is reason enough to take proper care of these waiting room toys to make sure that they can be played with by your kid for a long period of time.

One proper care tip is to regularly clean your kid’s waiting room toy. This is imperative not only to keep the toy in top shape but also to keep your kid safe. Germs that can cause sickness are easily transmitted via objects such as toys. Your kid’s toys especially if these are shared with other kids should always be thoroughly cleaned before using.

Most waiting room toys like Wooden Toys - Zoom To The Moon can be cleaned using just mild soap and water. It’s also a good idea to wash the toy with warm water to ensure that germs are eradicated. And since learning cubes have mazes and many small parts attached, you can opt to use a tiny brush to clean hard to reach places. Be sure to rinse and dry it out completely before giving it to your kid.

Second proper caring tip is to store the waiting room toy in a proper storage, one which is a clean and dry place. Toy chests are great storage places but be certain that no heavy toys are placed on top of the small learning cubes. Don’t allow your kid to just leave his cube lying around or scattered just anywhere. Teaching your kid to put away his toys after playing will not only be for the sake of the toy but more importantly, will instil good organizing habits in your kid.

Third proper caring tip is to teach your kid to treat his toy with respect. Talk to him about how valuable his toys and his other possessions are and why he should never abuse them. Discourage any banging, smashing or throwing around that your energetic little one might want to inflict on his toy.

Fourth proper caring tip is to alternate his toys with other toys. This hits two birds with one stone since doing this will ensure that your kid will not get bored with the same toy and that the toy will not easily wear out and will keep looking good as new.

Fifth and final proper caring tip is to always check the toy for loose or impaired parts so that you immediately know if it needs fixing. If you purchase high quality toys like learning cubes from Maxim, you need not worry too much about the toy breaking apart but remember that you still have to check it frequently. This will not only enable the toy to stay in top condition but will also ensure the safety of your kid.

Remember, Flip-A-Block Alphabet with Handle is your kid’s best friend during those times when long hours of waiting make him want to scream out loud because of boredom. It is your responsibility as parent to help and teach him care for these dearly loved toys.
