Let your Kid Discover the World with his Toys

When you find your one-year-old kid mixing ketchup and toothpaste together or putting paper in his mouth or doing all sorts of outrageous things, don’t be too alarmed. Your kid’s not weird, and definitely not nutty. It’s just that his natural curiosity leads him to experiments on things and that he has a penchant for discovering and exploring his surroundings.

What you should be doing is to encourage his natural curiosity. Of course, not by giving him more ketchup and toothpaste to mix. But by giving him a safe and rich learning environment where he’s free to discover and explore.

For one, give him educational toys that will introduce him to the things around him. Give him toys that will enhance his skills and more especially improve his senses which he will use to discover and take on the world. Toys like shape sorter, and waiting room toys such as learning cube are great for this because they are effective in sensory and tactile stimulation.

Shape sorters and building blocks boost visual perception by acquainting your kid with all sorts of shapes, colors and patterns. On the other hand, waiting room toys like learning cubes called the Play Cube with 5 Sided Activities from leading toymaker Maxim provides your kid with five sides of different activities. On one side, his fine motor skills will be strengthened as he manipulates wooden pegs along the maze. On another side, his pattern and color recognition will be enhanced while he slides wooden beads along toddler safe wires.

Another waiting room toy that will help your kid in his pursuit to discover the world is the Transportation & Police Play Cubes also from Maxim which is like a miniature town wherein he can slide tiny police cars through the maze of a tiny town. This will incite him to use his imagination as well as augment his sensory exploration.

A day on the kingdom Wall Panels and other educational toys indeed empower young children and foster the strength of their senses that they need to discover and explore the environment.

Of course, you also have to take him outside and let him play outdoors with his toys. Keeping him inside the house because you want to protect him is not good for him and may inhibit his learning and stunt his overall development. It is best that he gets acquainted with the world by making him be in the outside world.

Just be there with him at all times so that you can ensure that he is always safe even when outside the perimeters of your house and your safety zone.
