Mommy Tips for Travelling with your Baby

For the last few months of your life, you’ve been aching to take a vacation. All things at home have been piling up on your stress level: the endless laundry, headaches you get from creating a diverse menu for the family, baby’s incessant crying at night, running around the house to make sure that your crawling toddler stay safe, doing countless errands and many others. But your first wary about taking a vacation is how to travel with your baby.

Around familiar surroundings like your home, your baby’s not that hard to take care of because all your baby’s needs are within reach and the familiarity of the home makes him comfortable. But there are also times when he acts up and you just want to scream for help. You can just imagine how it would be if you are in unfamiliar territory with unfamiliar people. You can just imagine how a vacation that’s supposed to get you rested only stress you out more. The option of leaving your baby to a trusted family member or to a reliable friend may play in your mind. But you decide against it, knowing you won’t be able to enjoy a trip when you’re constantly worrying about your baby. Then you might as well just want to give up the whole idea.

But this need not be the case. Taking a vacation with your baby need not be the most stressful thing in the world for you. With these few tips, you can go visit places, see sights and enjoy a vacation with little stress:

Mommy tip 1: Take into consideration his schedule. Plan your travel according to your baby’s schedule. If he naps at 2 in the afternoon, don’t schedule the trip to museum on the exact time to avoid dealing with a stressed baby. Always make sure too that you feed him at the right time. A well-rested and well-fed baby is more likely to enjoy the sights as much as you do and cooperate in the trip’s itinerary.

Mommy tip 2: Don’t forget to bring his educational play set to keep him occupied. Waiting room toys like learning cubes are especially great for long hours of travel in the plane or in the car. These will keep him busy instead of whining and squirming in his seat because of boredom.

Aside from that, Play Sets like mini learning cube will also keep him entertained during parts of your trip that your kid won’t be interested in. For example, he might be awestruck if you take him to the wildlife park and be fascinated at the animals there, but he might be bored during your visit to a famous art gallery. In times like these, have his waiting room toys to keep him entertained.

What’s even great about these waiting room toys is the fact that they offer mind enriching activities while your kid has fun playing with them. For instance, his 5-in-1 Learning Cube will teach him about basic counting, improve his fine motor skills, shape and color recognition and spatial awareness.

Mommy tip 3: Remember to bring snacks to nibble on. It might not be easy to cook up his meal during vacation so be sure to bring crackers, dry cereals or fruits he can snack on during your travel.

Mommy tip 4: Baby-proof that place you’ll stay in. Don’t forget to pack some baby-proofing essentials like covers for electrical sockets or pads for table’s sharp edges. You certainly won’t be able to enjoy the trip if you’re constantly worried about the safety of your kid.

Mommy tip 5: Be patient with your baby. Although it might be frustrating when you have to change his diaper just when you are about to go boating or fishing but remember how you love your baby so much and that you wouldn’t want to go in this trip without him anyway.

Travelling with your baby may not be completely stress-free but it doesn’t mean you won’t be able to enjoy it. Taking a vacation with the one you love most is what matters most.
