Fun Games for your Kid’s Waiting Room Toys

Who said your kid’s waiting room toys are only to be played during waiting time? Just like any regular fun toy, there are a variety of games and activities your kid can use them in.

Here are some of them:

1. Obstacle Course Race. One great activity that your kid will surely love is an obstacle course race wherein one of the obstacles include solving a puzzle in his Activity play cube waiting room toy. In this game, your kid and you (or an older sibling or your spouse) will race to see who gets to the finish line first after overcoming all the obstacles on the way. Just be sure that you don’t put obstacles that are too hard for your kid. A five-year-old won’t be able to jump over a hurdle as easily as you.

2. Monkey see, monkey do. Imitative play activities such as the game called monkey see, monkey do is one of the prime sources of learning for kids. By imitating older people, your kid will learn about actions and improve his body awareness. This also helps in enhancing gross and fine motor skills. Use waiting room toys like zoo play cube in a game of   monkey see, monkey do to encourage him to imitate what you’re doing like sliding wooden beads or turning the hands of the clock.

3. Where’s the toy? Play the classic game of hide and seek but this time it’s his toy you should hide. It’s like a treasure hunt wherein you hide his waiting room toys all around the room and your kid will try to find them. For more fun and excitement, reverse roles and let him hide the toys while you go hunt for them. This activity is good for your kid’s sensory exploration and spatial awareness.

4. Chase the toy. Whether your child is only beginning to walk or can already run, he will surely enjoy a game of chase the waiting room toy. Put the toy at one side of the room or at the other end of his playmat and let him chase after it. If he’s already approaching it, move the toy a little farther away and let him chase after it even more. Games like this are instrumental in improving his physical skills including muscle coordination, gross motor skills, lower body strength, body awareness and bilateral coordination.

5. Imaginative pretend plays. Waiting room toys like his Transportation & Police Play Cubes can be used for imaginative pretend plays which are helpful in sparking his creative imagination. Let him pretend to be a police chasing after a bad guy or a police in a mission to solve a crime. Honing his creativity and imagination is a very important aspect of his development.

The possible activities for his waiting room toys are countless. You just have to be creative and imaginative to provide your kid with a rich learning and playing environment.
